DJ Fudge and Kiko Navarro are both veteran dance producers with many memorable releases between them over the years. They formed this collaboration after Fudge invited Kiko to play with him in Hong Kong where Fudge resides. Kiko had visited Singapore en route and had attended a Steve Reich concert which in his words “blew my mind’. As they commenced a recording session recounting his experience, he tried to explain what he felt and that resulted in all the piano parts on’ Omau Baba’.
The track was initially called ‘crazy piano’ and was a demo written a few years ago that got recently finished off after the pair played a gig together. It is a fantastically playful jam thanks to the mad piano, and is driven by great percussion, pumping bass and the part sung, part chanted vocals that make this track a real AfroTech dance floor special.
This is another tasteful outing for the Connected label.
