In psychological trait theory, the Big Five personality traits, also known as the five-factor model and the OCEAN model, is a suggested taxonomy, or grouping, for personality traits, developed from the 1980s onwards. 

The most widely accepted of these traits are the Big Five:

  • Openness.
  • Conscientiousness.
  • Extraversion.
  • Agreeableness.
  • Neuroticism.

What are other 10 personality traits? These 10 Traits Are Key for a “Healthy Personality”—Which Ones Do You Have?

  • Openness to feelings.
  • Straightforwardness (and being “frank, sincere, and ingenuous”)
  • Competence.
  • Warmth (being affectionate and friendly)
  • Positive emotions (experiencing “joy, happiness, love, and excitement”)
  • Low levels of angry hostility.

Using this data, Cattell performed factor analysis to generated other dimensions of human personality traits: abstractedness, warmth, apprehension,emotional stabilitylivelinessopenness to change, perfectionism, privateness, intelligence , rule consciousness , tension, sensitivity, social boldness, self-reliance, …
