The moment ilan Bluestone brought on stage fellow remixer Maor Levi & (one half of) original producer’s Gabriel & Dresden whilst ilan & Maor’s ‘Keep On Holding’ remix filled the O2 Arena Prague during ilan’s ABGT350 performance.
Above & Beyond are an English electronic music group consisting of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki. Formed in 2000, they are the owners of London-based electronic dance music labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, and also host a weekly radio show titled Group Therapy Radio. Wikipedia
The final EP to be taken from Spencer Brown’s debut mix album, ‘Illusion Of Perfection pt. III’ includes the melodic ‘waves.wav’ with long time friend Wilt Claybourne, the celestial ‘Bill Graham’, and the jazz stylings of piano composer Roderick Demmings Jr. on ‘Airplane Tekno’.
“Parallels began as I explored synths, sounds, textures, and melodic motifs from my early days (even childhood) in dance music. I broke out all my old synths both analog and virtual analog, and dove back into classic sound design, wondering why I had put them down in the first place. This reconnection with my past taught me quite a few things, but most importantly: I learned to take things a bit less seriously, and not give a fuck.
I’ve always found it challenging to merge my two passions in electronic music: the dance floor, and the more heady home listening environment. That’s why I specifically decided to challenge myself further and include both sonic landscapes in one track: Parallels. It starts as a 100BPM idm-infused half time hard techno (in my eyes) track, that gradually builds to an electro-slammed full on classic trance revival moment. This is the first time I’ve fused both sonic passions of mine into one whole piece, and I’m very sure this will not be the last!
The EP sweeps across my musical mood board of everything from hyper emotive string sections augmented by modular synth patterns, to more whimsical tuned percussive ear worms. The most exciting part for me was the self discovery of understanding that these two wildly different sides of my musical curiosity can exist in parallel with each other, harmoniously and non conflicted. I proudly present Parallels in its entirety today, and look forward to exploring this concept even further.”
A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations series returns for its twelfth instalment featuring Anjunadeep alumn GRAZZE and three debutants in The Dualz, minds&machines, and Frost.
French duo The Dualz kick proceedings off with ‘Your Eyes’, a progressive piece characterised by dark fluttering arpeggios. Having played at Watergate for Anjunadeep’s and Ben Bohmer’s Ton Topferei label party earlier this year, the Montpellier-based pair are no strangers to the label family. Recently featured on Anjunadeep 10 with his track ‘Querencia’, Dublin-based producer and Ibiza Global Radio host GRAZZE returns with ‘Irish Hill’, a driving departure from his previous label release.
Next up is German duo minds&machines. With releases on Diynamic and Astralwerks and support from names such as Solomun and Lane 8, minds&machines blend of UKG and ambient electronica is inimitable, exemplified in their debut label release ’September’.
Finally we welcome Sydney-born Frost for his label debut in the syncopated ‘Undercurrents’. Frost’s first Anjunadeep offering shows a penchant for deep, percussive production, illustrating why he’s released on deadmau5’s mau5trap and garnered support from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1.

Two of Anjunabeats’ most prolific talents return, both riding high on the ABGT350 wave as ilan Bluestone & Spencer Brown join forces for a formidable new EP.
Named after one of ilan’s resident felines, the one-two punch of ‘Pooperling’ fuses together Spencer’s progressive sound with ilan’s infamous ‘tronce’ plucks, whilst the title track ‘Gatekeeper’ – a crowdpleaser from both ilan and Spencer’s gargantuan ABGT350 sets – continues in similar fashion whilst embracing more haunting elements. The EP rounds off with ’Steelyard’, a melodic take on the industrial techno formula, and a sought-after ID from Spencer’s set at the Anjunabeats Creamfields Steelyard show last year.
Both artists will be on the road this fall – ilan Bluestone embarks on the next leg of his ‘We Are The Universe’ tour across the US, as well as joining our all-star label cast on the Anjunabeats U.K. tour at The Warehouse Project, and in Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham and Brighton. On the back of performances with Above & Beyond at ABGT350 and Red Rocks plus a slot at ASOT, Mexico City, Spencer Brown rounds off the year with dates in Houston, LA and San Francisco.
